Q3 What Should People Learn in the AI Era?
Chapter 1 AI and the Future of Work
The Short Answer
Not answers, but how to ask questions.
Unpacking the Question
What should people learn in the AI era?
I believe the answer is "how to ask questions."
Until now, in school and at work alike, most of our time went into learning the "correct answers."
Building knowledge and answering accurately—that is what earned high marks.
But AI now shows us those answers in an instant.
Researching.
Analyzing.
Predicting.
Drafting execution plans.
These are becoming abilities anyone can access through AI.
And so the role demanded of humans changes too.
Not "how to answer," but "what to ask."
Someone must decide what ought to be solved.
What future do we want to realize?
What do we want to cherish?
What value do we want to leave to society?
Such questions can only be born from human will and values.
From people who hold answers, to people who ask questions.
In the AI era, the center of value shifts there.
Implications for Management
Education systems and training programs also need to be redesigned for the AI era.
Education aimed solely at acquiring knowledge will be replaced by AI.
The people companies should develop from now on are not those who memorize correct answers, but those who can generate new questions for unknown problems.
A company's competitiveness will be decided by whether it can evolve from a learning organization into an organization that creates the future.
How Would You Answer?
Is what you are learning right now a way to accumulate more "answers"?
Or is it a way to generate "better questions"?
